Organic Farm Manager

Established 50 acre organic farm SW of Chehalis WA, seeks Farm Manager to coordinate/facilitate planting, cultivating, irrigating, fertilizing, and monitoring wide variety of crops under direction of owners. Farm Manager is responsible for efficient and profitable production of crops.

Requires: min. 5 yrs. farming experience, experience on wide variety of equipment, ability to lead people and lift/carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly, mechanical knowledge, knowledge of plant pests and diseases. Knowledge of organic farming practices preferred.

Year-round with reduced winter hours January-March.

Farmers Market Agents:
Ballard, Olympia, Chehalis

We have several positions open for market agents. All positions have similar requirements; please see below for a general summary and job qualifications. Specific shifts for each market are listed here.

Ballard Farmers Market
(Two positions available)

Position Type: Part Time/Seasonal: July through December, Sundays only (LONG shift).

Olympia Farmers Market

Position Type: Part Time/Seasonal: June to November, Thursday through Sunday, November on, Sat/Sun only.

Community Farmers Market at Chehalis

Position Type: Part Time/Seasonal: mid-June through October, Tuesdays only.


Position Summary: Our farmers market agents handle all the ins and outs of the market day, from driving the truck to selling our produce. They are required to handle transactions with honesty and provide excellent customer service. They should be able to answer questions about produce and its preparation, as well as general questions about the farm.

Qualifications: Experience in retail/market sales. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs repeatedly, and to be on one's feet for extended periods of time. Ability to drive our 16' refrigerated box truck. Possession of a valid WA State driver's license and a good driving record. Ability to work with money accurately and to make change. Positive and personable attitude!

Produce Handler

(Three positions available)

Position Type: Full time/Seasonal: mid-June through November 1st or longer (as season dictates), Monday-Friday

Position Summary: The wash station staff is responsible for handling produce as it comes in from the field and processing it for delivery to wholesale and retail markets. They unload fresh produce from the field trucks, wash and sort it, label it, and organize it in the cooler, all in a timely fashion to maintain the quality and freshness of the product.

Qualifications: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly and to be on one's feet for extended periods. Ability to work from simple spread sheets, ability to add/subtract easily, count, work with scales and use a calculator. Ability to work in a covered outdoor environment, subject to weather and outside conditions. Ability to work efficiently at organizing, labeling and packing. Ability to identify different varieties of produce.

Flower Cutting/Bunching

(Two positions available)

We have a primary and secondary flower position.

Primary Flower Position

Position Type: Part Time/Seasonal: mid-June through early October, Monday through Friday.

Secondary Flower Position

Position Type: Part Time/Seasonal: as needed for bouquet making, July through September.


Position Summary: Flower cutting staff are responsible for harvesting and counting all flowers cut, and for creating bouquets or counting stems for delivery to our CSA customers. They will rotate all flowers in stock, sort for quality, and keep accurate inventories of each flower variety as it is cut.

Qualifications: 1 year minimum experience with cutting flowers and with floral arranging. Ability to identify flower varieties and types and judge maturity of bloom. Ability to lift and move five gallon buckets containing water and flowers. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and to bend freely. Ability to use hand pruners for an extended period of time. Possession of good math and counting skills, and the ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
